There are 44 phonemes, or sounds, in the English language. Every letter
has a name and a sound, for example h is called aitch and makes a
whispered huh sound.The NGFL Cymru website has the correct letter
names and letter sounds on it for you to listen to. Click on individual letters on the interactive alphabet to listen to the correct letter sounds for yourself.
